During the fifth PhD symposium, the VKI graduate students will review the doctoral research carried out in the three departments of the Institute: Aeronautics and Aerospace, Environmental and Applied Fluid Dynamics, and Turbomachinery and Propulsion.
The first-year PhD students will present a poster on their research plans and some preliminary results. The second-year students will give a 15-minute talk on their research activities and progress results followed by 5 minutes of questions. The other students will give a 20-minute talk followed by 10 minutes of questions. Prominent lecturers in three application fields of fluid dynamics will give a keynote lecture opening each day of the symposium.
The talks are organized in sessions according to the following topics: "Multiphase Flows," "Uncertainty Quantification," "Aero-Thermal Investigations in Turbomachinery," "Development of Advanced CFD and Optimization," "Noise and Aeroacoustics," "Ablation," "Ground and Flight Experiments," and "Numerical Modeling for Aerothermodynamics."
Attendance is free of charge. Please confirm your participation by email to the VKI secretariat: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
