in Honor of Professor Mario Carbonaro
at the Occasion of his Retirement
to be held on May 20, 2009 at the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics
On March 31, 2009 Professor Carbonaro terminated a long career of 43 years at VKI dedicated entirely to research and teaching, which culminated in 1999 by becoming the 9th Director of the Institute, a responsibility to which he devoted all his energy for more than 9 years.
To honor the career of Professor Carbonaro, the von Karman Institute will organize on May 20, 2009 a half-day symposium addressing the role of the von Karman Institute as partner in European space research projects with particular attention to the VKI Plasmatron facility one of the most important achievements of Professor Carbonaro.
