DIVE INTO THE WORLD OF CUTTING-EDGE WIND TUNNELS AND LABORATORIES

On Sunday, November 24, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, VKI opens its doors for an extraordinary day. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to visit a site usually closed to the public, hosting some of the most advanced scientific facilities in the world.

EXPLORE A FASCINATING WORLD

Visitors will be guided through a maze of unique wind tunnels and laboratories. Children aged 8 and up can explore aerodynamics with fun and educational experiments tailored to their age.

Unique Wind Tunnels and Laboratories

Longshot: a burst wind tunnel simulating hypersonic conditions up to 14 times the speed of sound.

Plasmatron: capable of recreating the extreme temperatures of spacecraft atmospheric reentry.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION AND REGISTRATION

  • All activities are available in English, Dutch and French
  • Visit to the laboratories: The visit to the laboratories lasts 1 hour 15 minutes. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of your visit.
  • Children's activities : Your children can take part in the activities at any time. Activities last approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. If you would like to take part in the tour of the laboratories and the children's activities, please register before 3pm.
  • Times: Children's activities finish at 4pm. The last visit to the laboratories starts at 3pm.
