About the lecture series

Constrained by the conventional tube-and-wing concept, the aeronautical industry is struggling to further reduce its pollutant and noise emissions. Radical new propulsion concepts are needed, e.g. involving Distributed Electric Propulsion (DEP) and/or Boundary Layer Ingestion (BLI). At the same time, Urban Air Mobility (UAM) is developing at an accelerating pace, proposing fairly disruptive aircraft architectures combining DEP, BLI and multi-rotor systems.

In order to accompany those disruptive changes, engineers need to re-invent the tools and methods that support aircraft design. This three-day lecture series brings together leading researchers and engineers at the forefront of developing quieter and more efficient aircraft. Whether it's Urban Air Mobility (UAM) or next-generation commercial jets, noise reduction and performance optimization require better multi-fidelity simulation tools trained and validated on novel experimental databases, as well as a better insight of the potential benefits brought by advanced noise mitigation technologies.
Over the next three days, you'll gain insights into:
  • Cutting-edge measurement, modelling, and simulation techniques for predicting aircraft noise and performance.
  • Expert presentations on installation effects, noise sources, and aerodynamic behavior.
  • The latest advancements in tools and methodologies for designing quieter and more sustainable aircraft.
  • Strategies for optimizing propulsion systems, airframes, and overall aircraft architectures.
This lecture series is your chance to engage with prominent researchers and industry leaders pushing the boundaries of aircraft design and to connect with fellow engineers, scientists, and innovators to share ideas and collaborate.
