The Thesis Prize of AFVL 2018 has been attributed Miguel Alfonso Mendez, PhD at VKI and Bertrand Mercier during the CFTL 2018 (16ème Congrès Francophone sur les Techniques Laser pour la Mécanique des Fluides, held at Fouran, france) .
This prize awards a remarkable thesis work in the field laser diagnotics in fluid mechanics.

Miguel successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled "Dynamics of Gas Jet Impinging on Falling Liquid Films" on 7 May 2018 at the Université Libre de Bruxelles and the von Karman Institute.
