Design & Drawing Office

The VKI design and drawing office plays an important role in providing the three VKI departments with the wind tunnel models, experimental setups, facility modifications and developments that they need for training and research. It also prepares figures and charts for technical reports, publications and displays of scientific material.

The office is fully equipped for Computer Aided Design (CAD). The following software, periodically updated, are used: AUTOCAD, for 2D drawings; Catia V5 and Inventor Professional for 3D drawings. DXF, IGES, STEP and ACIS translators, are available for exchange of drawing files with other CAD software packages.
