Kick-off meeting of the Clean Aviation FLHYING TANK project
Wednesday, 18th January, the FLHYING TANK consortium has successfully concluded the project kick-off meeting in Ajdovščina, Slovenia at Pipistrel headquarters. The project is disruptive and low-cost delivering a composite LH2 tank to be integrated into a flying platform supplied by Pipistrel in 2025.
The FLHYING TANK consortium is lead by Pipistrel Vertical Solutions as the project coordinator and aircraft integrator, Peak Technology as a composite liquid hydrogen (LH2) tank supplier, Test Fuchs as the LH2 tank peripherals supplier, VKI as the fluid dynamics expert and University of Patras as the LH2 tank structural expert.
The outcomes of the project will contribute to better understanding the technical challenges related to tank design and in-flight operation considering sloshing effects of a relevant sized liquid hydrogen tank.
