The BeCOVER testing center, Cenaero research centers, the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics, and the University of Liège have joined forces to create a partnership in the field of turbomachinery.

Olivier Servais, General Manager of BeCOVER, Philippe Geuzaine, General Manager of Cenaero, Peter Grognard, General Manager of VKI, and Professor Eric Delhez, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences at the University of Liège, signed the partnership agreement today during the inauguration of BeCOVER, a new compressor testing center located in Herstal, Liège Province, Belgium.

Objectives of the Collaboration

The primary goal of this collaboration is to identify, promote, and develop synergies among the partners in the areas of turbomachinery modeling, instrumentation, and experimental validation. Specifically, the collaboration aims to:

  1. Promote the Integration of Academic and Research Expertise: Support the development of BeCOVER by offering high-value services to its clients.
  2. Develop Educational Proposals: This includes, but is not limited to, doctoral programs, theses, and internships, fostering a dynamic learning environment for students and professionals.
  3. Implement Joint Research Programs: Leverage the combined strengths and resources of the partners, focusing on areas relevant to their respective expertise.

"We are convinced that strengthening the Belgian ecosystem around turbomachinery will allow us to consolidate our expertise in fundamental research, which is essential for validating breakthrough innovations and addressing the significant environmental challenges in the aviation sector."
