This 18th November 2014, VKI took part in the press conference of "de Dag van de Wetenschap" at Technopolis®, the Flemish science center, in the presence of Minister Philippe Muyters, the Flemish minister of work, economy, innovation and sport.

Minister Philippe Muyters presented the fourth edition of "de Dag van de Wetenschap" where 86 universities, high schools, museums, innovative companies, research institutes and observatories will open their doors on Sunday November 23, 2014, among them the von Karman Institute. During the conference, the minister Philippe Muyters also participated in some scientific experiments selected among 500 activities which will be available on Sunday.

At this occasion, the von Karman Institute presented a mini wind tunnel which allows to explain the basic concepts of aerodynamics.

The prototype of the school lab portable wind tunnel has been designed and handcrafted by Prof. Mario Carbonaro, former director of the von Karman Institute, for the European Commission FP7 Grant REStARTS (2009-2012), coordinated by Dr. Patricia Corieri.
