Official visit of VKI delegation to Romania hosted by the Ministry of Education and Research
On the occasion of the new membership of Romania to the VKI consortium, a VKI delegation was hosted on 7-8 May by the Romanian Ministry of Education and Research. The delegation visited 3 institutions in Bucharest, namely INCAS (the National Institute for Aerospace Research), COMOTI (the Romanian Research and Development Institute for Gas Turbines) and the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest. The VKI was also introduced to the Romanian research community in a dedicated session at the 2nd International Workshop on Numerical Modelling in Aerospace Sciences (held at INCAS, Bucharest, 7-8 May, 2014) with presentations by Profs. Contzen (Chairman of the Board), J.M. Muylaert (Director) and H. Deconinck (Dean) respectively on the subjects "Theodore von Karman: his life, contacts with Henri Coanda and VKI", "VKI Research and education activities: an overview" and "COOLFluiD: an open computational platform for plasma and multi-physics".
