The seminar will be presented by Prof. Sebastian Kaiser, University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany.

Prof. Sebastian KaiserProf. Sebastian Kaiser completed his Diplomingenieur at the RWTH Aachen in 2000, also having acquired a B.Eng. as an exchange student at Dartmouth College (Hanover, NH). He then joined Prof. Marshall Long’s group at Yale University, from which he graduated with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in 2005. At Sandia National Laboratories in Livermore, CA, he first continued his work on laser diagnostics in turbulent flames as a post-doc, before becoming a Member of Technical Staff (PI) in the Engine Combustion group. Since 2011 he is a professor at the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany, being a permanent member of faculty since 2016. His group of currently 7 Ph.D.-students develops and applies laser-based imaging in internal combustion engines and other reacting flow
