Sonaca 200

Sonaca Aircraft is a new subsidiary of the Sonaca Group dedicated to general aviation. Since 2015, Sonaca Aircraft is developing, certifying and marketing a 2-seater aircraft for private pilots and flying schools all around Europe. Going from the market to the product definition, we will present you the insight of such a venture. As you may also have questions about entrepreneurship in a multinational group, we will go deeper in the dynamics of a small company, using the expertise of her parent companies but keeping its own flexibility.

Through the presentation you will discover the activities of the Sonaca Group, her innovative program launched in 2014 and her first spin out, Sonaca Aircraft.

The two speakers of Sonaca Aircraft S.A. are
Sophie Lancereau, CFO and COO
Pierre Van Wetter, CCO

has graduated in both aerospace engineering and management from the Université Libre de Bruxelles. She joined the Sonaca Group in 2010, as a structural engineer. After contributing a few years to various research and development projects, she moved to the sales department, handling business development tasks. In 2014, she founded Sonaca Aircraft with two colleagues. Today, she assumes the position of Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer within Sonaca Aircraft.

has graduated from the University of Liège as aeronautical Engineer. He began his career in the Technical Department of Sonaca where he participated to the development of numerical methods and calculation of advanced aeronautical structures. After several years as Stress Engineer for different Airbus, Bombardier & Embraer programmes, he decided to build his career into a new direction in 2014. Holder of a pilot license, he is today the co-founder of Sonaca Aircraft and holds the position of Chief Commercial Officer in the new company.

How to reach the VKI?

The Institute is situated in Rhode-Saint-Genèse, some 10 km south of the center of Brussels on the road to Waterloo and Charleroi. Near the "Gare du Midi", you can take busses 136, 137, W or 365a to VKI (Rhode-Saint-Genèse) and alight at the "Espinette Centrale". A train also links the three main railway stations with the station at Rhode-Saint-Genèse, which is about 2.5 km from the VKI.

By Train: From Bruxelles-Brussel-National Airport - Your route plan
Those arriving by air are warned that the taxi fare from the airport to Central Brussels is rather high. A train service links the airport with the three main railway stations (gare du Midi (Brussel-Zuid Station), Gare centrale (Brussel-Centraal Station) and gare du Nord (Brussel-Noord Station), the journey taking about 20 minutes. Participants will effect a considerable saving of money if they take this train and complete their journey to the hotel by taxi or on foot from the stations. Near "the Gare du Midi", you can take busses 136 (recommended), 137 (recommended), W or 365a to VKI (Rhode-Saint-Genèse or Sint-Genesius-Rode) and alight at the "Espinette Centrale" or "Middenhut".
A train also links the three main railway stations with the station at Rhode-Saint-Genèse or Sint-Genesius-Rode, which is about 2.5 km from the VKI.
