Advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics Methods for Hypersonic Flows - VKI LS and STO LS AVT-358
Monday 25 March 2024 - Friday 29 March 2024Conventional tools used to simulate flows in the hypersonic regime are often based on a finite-volume discretization method applied to a structured mesh, considering that it is a robust approach. The availability of innovative numerical methods and algorithms creates increasing opportunities to simulate hypersonic flows for complex systems, such as cruise vehicles and space platforms, but it presents many challenges. In this Lecture Series, we will review the current challenges specific to the hypersonic regime and propose ground-breaking computational methods and perspectives. Both the theoretical and algorithmic aspects of computations, applications, and results will be discussed. The program is tailored to provide professionals and students working and supporting aerospace industries, space agencies, as well as defense programs a snapshot of the state-of-the-art computational fluid dynamics methods for hypersonic flows.
This von Karman Institute lecture series is complemented by a free two-day lecture series VKI-STO-AVT-358, funded by the NATO Science and Technology Organisation. If you register for the full week, registration for this supplement is included. You can also register just for the two-day VKI-STO-AVT-358 Lecture Series and the workshop. For this, we request only a nominal contribution to cover catering expenses.
This lecture series takes place on site only.
