Seven IWT Doctoral Grants for Strategic Basic Research attributed to VKI PhD candidates
Seven IWT doctoral grants were awarded to seven VKI PHD candidates for the academic year 2015-2016.
The IWT awards fellowships to doctoral students allow them to work on their PhD at one of the Flemish universities. The subject of this thesis should fit within strategic basic research with an economic finality or be in line with one of the six strategic clusters of the Flemish Council for Science and Innovation (VRWI). An IWT doctoral (PhD) grant for strategic basic research is composed of two terms of two years. The research, however, can be conducted in a Flemish university college or a Belgian scientific institution, subject to the academic supervisor's agreement and the IWT's approval.
