FRIA and IWT Grants

Six PhD fellows from VKI have been recently awarded numerous prestigious grants such as those provided by the Belgian agencies FRIA and IWT.

The "FRIA" provides PhD grants allowing early stage researchers wishing to embark on a doctorate for 4 years in a university of the Federation Wallonia-Brussels of Belgium.The funding comes in the form of 2 successive grants of respectively 27 months and 21 months.

An IWT doctoral (PhD) grant for strategic basic research is composed of two terms of two years. Your PhD research is done under the scientific guidance of an academic supervisor at a Flemish university.

In the name of VKI, we congratulate Julien Clinckemaillie (with UCL), Miguel Mendez (with ULB) and Nicolas De Cock (with ULB) for their FRIA grants; and Clara Garcia Sanchez (with Antwerpen Universiteit), Sarah Gonzalez (with VUB) and Alejandro Alvarez Laguna (with KULeuven) for their IWT grants.
