Delphine Laboureur, graduate student of Prof. Jean-Marie Buchlin and Prof. Patrick Rambau, working in collaboration with the Ecole des Mines d'Alès and the CEA Gramat, has been awarded the second place in the PhD category (First Runner Up Paper) during the student paper competition at the ASME Pressure Vessel & Piping 2012 conference, held in July 2012 in Toronto Canada.
The paper is entitled: "Small scale experiments on Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapor Explosions: Supercritical BLEVE." The 19th Annual Rudy Scavuzzo Student Paper Symposium & Competition, sponsored by the PVPD Senate, has attracted a record number of entries. A certificate of recognition, a $1000 Honorarium (for being a finalist) and an extra $800 for the second place have been granted to D. Laboureur.
