VKI Lecture Series STO-AVT-235 on Flow Characterization and Modeling of Hypersonic Wind Tunnels
Experiments in hypersonic ground facilities represent a key pillar, alongside theoretical models and numerical computations, for all space application programs. Successful investigations in these high-speed wind tunnels strongly depend on the quality of the flow testing conditions and on their characterization.
This lecture series is designed to be a meeting with specialists for researchers on aerospace engineering, hypersonic testing, flow diagnostics and high speed flows modeling to discuss operation, characterization and applications of hypersonic wind tunnels for aerospace missions.

For the PhD candidate and undergraduate student: The request to be considered for an award must accompany the application to attend the Lecture Series, and the applicant must provide a recommendation letter from his or her professor; if not done so, the request will not be taken into consideration. All possible alternative sources of funding should be investigated before aid is requested under this scheme, so that those most in need will benefit.
