Mike Griffin, American physicist and aerospace engineer, served as  11th Administrator of NASA from 2005 to 2009. As NASA Administrator he led the NASA team and managed its resources to advance the U.S. Vision of Space Exploration. During his career at NASA, he oversaw such areas as the future of human spaceflight, the fate of the Hubble telescope and NASA's role in understanding climate change. In April 2009, Mike Griffin was named eminent scholar and professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. In 2012, he was hired as Chairman and CEO of Schafer Corporation, initiating and maintaining a growth rate year after year.
