Aerothermodynamics Days at VKI

November 3 - 4, 2009

INTRODUCTION

An informal series of lectures specialised on aerothermodynamics subjects is being organised in the Von Karman Institute on Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 November in concomitance with the presence in the Institute of reputed
scientists.

The lectures, whose emphasis is on hypersonic flows, are provided by specialists of the discipline and will cover:

- basic flow equations with inclusion of the electromagnetic field
- related methods of computational fluid dynamics
- kinetic theory of gases for nonequilibrium flows
- radiative gas dynamics
- quantum-mechanics elements for aerothermodynamics
- experimental methods, including hypersonic simulations and magnetohydrodynamics

The lectures will have a strong didactic character. This is a great opportunity for interested students and professionals to be in contact and interact with specialists working daily on aerothermodynamics problems.

Attendance is free of charge. Please confirm your participation by email to the VKI secretariat: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Your email should contain the following information: indicate your firstname, lastname, address, affiliation and position and mention as subject "aerothermodynamics days" participation.
